Sebastian has advised clients on Banking and Financial Services Law for most of his professional life. He has acted for many of Australia's major, regional and foreign banks and financiers and has extensive experience in commercial, development and specialist financing including the preparation of standard form documents and securities for use by financiers throughout Australia, mortgage fund management and various aspects of securitisation of loan portfolios. With this background Sebastian is well placed to advise banks, financiers and borrowers and joint venturers on credit facility transaction structuring and documentation as well as restructuring transactions following credit distress and or default.

  • Acting in Corporate, Commercial and retail mortgage lending transactions for lenders and borrowers

  • Acting for Banks and non Bank lenders on loan transactions for commercial property lending and development finance lending (large and small scale land subdivisions and multi-level units)
  • Providing specialist advice and assistance in connection with loan transactions, securities, general banking and finance enquiries and documentation and PPSA
  • Acting for a bank on commercial development funding for major commercial office complexes near Docklands, acting for a purchaser as part of acquisition funding for World Trade Centre, acting for a builder in connection with construction finance for Grand Central Apartments in Melbourne
  • Acting for mid tier banks on development funding for apartment complexes and property developments
  • Acting for mezzanine lenders for property developments
