Matthew is a strong commercial lawyer who practices in the areas of insurance litigation, banking and finance litigation and general commercial disputes. In this capacity, he acts on behalf of a variety of large and small insurers in Plaintiff and Defendant motor vehicle accident disputes in relation to quantum and liability. Matthew has also handled many security document disputes over property and motor vehicles, complaints against financial advisers for loss suffered as a result of negligent or inappropriate financial advice and a multitude of life insurance disputes lodged with the Financial Ombudsman Service.

Experience

  • Acting on behalf of a variety of large and small insurers in Plaintiff and Defendant motor vehicle accident disputes in relation to quantum and liability
  • Acting in disputes with financial advisers regarding negligent or inappropriate financial advice
  • Providing advice on life insurance disputes
  • Advising on general commercial disputes
  • Advising and conducting litigation on behalf of financial institutions
  • Enforcement of securities and collection of debts on behalf of lenders and other clients
  • Acting for clients in relation to bankruptcy and insolvency disputes
  • Undertook a year-long secondment to the Investments, Life Insurance and Superannuation division of the Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS)
