Mark is the National Practice Group Leader of our Property and Development team. Mark has extensive experience in acting for and advising property developers, including preparing all pro forma sale contracts, development and marketing deeds, advising in relation to subdivisions and owners corporations, restrictive covenants and easements.

His experience encompasses acting for property owners (including private and public clients) in relation to sales, acquisitions and due diligence for potential purchases and dispositions of a variety of property types.

Experience

  • Acting for and advising property developers in relation to various medium density projects, including preparing all pro forma sale contracts, development and marketing deeds, advising in relation to subdivisions and owners corporations, restrictive covenants and easements

  • Acting for developers in relation to matters from concept to completion of developments, joint venture arrangements and development agreements

  • Acting for a broad range of developers on several mixed use and vacant land developments throughout Melbourne, including preparing contracts of sale for all estates, section 173 agreements, common property documents, subdivision advice (including regarding Growth Area Infrastructure Contributions and Staged Payment Arrangements), advice regarding duty, GST and other taxes and other real property dealings

  • Acting for property owners (including private and public clients) in relation to sales, acquisitions, planning advice and due diligence for potential purchases and dispositions of a variety of property types, including development sites, CBD office buildings and shopping centres and including Building Energy Efficiency Certificate issues and Growth Area Infrastructure Contributions considerations

  • Acting for several landlord clients in relation to CBD office and commercial leases, shopping centres and industrial properties with particular experience in relation to Victorian retail leases

  • Acting for developers in relation to leasing matters in several mixed use developments

  • Advising commercial landlord clients regarding agreements for lease, leases and associated issues for shopping centres and leases in relation to off the plan developments and existing sites

  • Managing a team of lawyers and law clerks dedicated to providing service to property developers in relation to their Victorian property dealings

  • Prior to his legal career, Mark was a licensed estate agent and therefore has an understanding of several aspects of sale and purchase transactions
