Mark Burrows joined the Property & Development team after undertaking his supervised workplace training at Russell Kennedy and being admitted to practise in 2016. Mark has previously worked as a surveyor and brings this practical, hands-on experience to his legal role.


  • Acting for local government, state government, corporate entities and water corporations in all aspects of dispositions and acquisitions of land, subdivisions and creation of easements

  • Advising on duty and tax implications of property transactions, including the availability of duty concessions and exemptions

  • Commercial and retail leasing for both landlords and tenants, in particular advising lessors regarding default and termination

  • Experience with complex purchases and sales, including transfers of sublease under Crown alpine leases

  • Property due diligence, including as part of mergers and acquisitions, including a significant acquisition on behalf of a prominent winery in the Mornington Peninsula

  • General property law advice, acting for private companies, developers and individuals in a broad range of property-related transactions

  • Advising landlords and tenants of their rights and obligations under the Residential Tenancies Act
