Anthony has been practising for 20 years in workplace relations, discrimination and safety matters, and has been with Russell Kennedy for 21 years. He has been recognised since 2014 by Best Lawyers for expertise in Occupational Health and Safety Law. He has contributed to articles in The Age, the Sydney Morning Herald, the Courier Mail and SmartCompany, and has spoken at various industry conferences.

Experience

  • Drafting and advising on enterprise agreements, employment contracts and policies
  • Drafting and advising on independent contractor arrangements
  • Advising on the interaction between enterprise agreements, transitional awards, modern awards, State reference public sector awards and the National Employment Standards
  • Advising on workplace investigations, disciplinary matters, and termination of employment
  • Acting for clients on equal opportunity matters including sexual harassment and discrimination claims
  • Acting for clients in unfair dismissal and adverse action proceedings in the Fair Work Commission and the Federal Court
  • Advising clients in relation to industrial action and dispute resolution before the Fair Work Commission
  • Advising Councils on Councillor conduct issues
  • Advising clients in relation to obligations under workplace health and safety legislation
  • Advising clients in relation to Improvement Notices and Prohibition Notices, and appealing those notices both through WorkSafe’s Internal Review process and in the Victorian Civil and Administrative Tribunal
  • Advising clients in responding to critical safety incidents
  • Advising and acting for clients in prosecutions arising from workplace fatalities, injuries, and other incidents
  • Advising clients in relation to privacy issues
  • Advising clients in relation to FOI
