Andrea is a Principal in Russell Kennedy’s Victorian WorkCover Authority team. Andrea has extensive experience and expertise in personal injury workers compensation litigation and dispute resolution.

She has represented various employers in the building, construction, healthcare, manufacturing, services, transport and logistics, retail, government and labour hire industries in defending serious injury, common law and statutory benefits litigation on behalf of the Victorian WorkCover Authority.

Andrea acts and advises in complex multi-party common law litigation and works closely with both employers and the Victorian WorkCover Authority, and their appointed Workcover claims agents, in developing strategies to minimise litigation risks and exposure at the litigated and pre-litigated stages.

Andrea has a pragmatic and strategic approach to litigation, and a strong focus on effective negotiation skills. Andrea has been named in Doyle’s Guide (2016), (2017) and (2018) Leading Workers Compensation Lawyers (Defendant) Victoria.

Experience

  • Acting on behalf of the Victorian WorkCover Authority in defence of common law and statutory benefits litigation under the Accident Compensation Act 1985 in all Victorian jurisdictions

  • Working closely with and protecting the interests of employers from various industries in minimising litigation risks and exposure

  • Acting in a number of scheme sensitive matters, as well as complex multi-party disputes and appeal litigation
