Workplace Relations Seminar - Surveillance in the workplace

Where is the line when it comes to workplace surveillance?

Surveillance devices are useful workplace tools to protect property and ensure the safety of workers. Surveillance technology is constantly evolving, from cameras and listening devices to GPS trackers and software that monitors emails, data usage, and even keystrokes.

While technological advances have made surveillance easier, there are rules about when and how surveillance can lawfully be conducted in the workplace, and how the data from that surveillance can be used.

In this seminar, Libby Pallot and Simone Aloi will discuss:

  • the legal limitations on workplace surveillance;
  • the consequences of unlawful surveillance; and
  • using surveillance data as evidence.

If you have any particular questions regarding workplace surveillance that you would like Libby and Simone to answer in this seminar, please email them to seminars@rk.com.au by Wednesday the 16th of May.
