This ninety minute seminar will provide those officers responsible for managing locally engaged staff with an overview of the primary employment and workplace health and safety related requirements and obligations that are imposed by Australia law. The seminar is specifically designed to assist embassy, commisions and consular staff in satisfying the requirements of Australian labour law.The seminar also provides practical strategies to reduce or eliminate relevant legal risks.

Andrew Klein is a Special Counsel in Russell Kennedy’s Government Law Team. He brings extensive experience in litigating and providing high level strategic advice to government and private sector clients in relation to workplace relations, employment, workplace health and safety and workers compensation related matters, including: unfair dismissal, adverse action, bullying and harassment and discrimination claims. Before entering private practice Andrew worked for a number of years as an executive manager and in house lawyer in various parts of the Australian Public Service.
Andrew has previously worked closely with and provided advice and training to a range of government departments and agencies, including: the Australian Federal Police, the Australian Taxation Office, the Department of Defence, the Defence Materiel Organisation, Comcare, the Commonwealth Ombudsman and the Department of Immigration and Border Protection.
Andrew currently provides advice to a number of Embassies, High Commissions and Consulates regarding compliance with Australian labour law.
